07 January 2009
The newly sponsored Elliott Sports U 12 North Antrim Indoor Hurling League competition has once again increased in size for 2009, despite the credit crunch, in both terms of participants and venue. This year to accommodate the participants in the west of Ulster a welcome additional venue of Michael Davitts Swatragh will be included and a change of venue in Belfast to Edmund Rice College on the Hightown Road. This year the North Antrim Board welcome the new participants of St Eunans of Letterkenny and St Colms Ballinascreen to the competition. This now gives a total of 42 clubs from five different counties in Ulster (Antrim, Down, Derry, Tyrone, and Donegal) who will enjoy hurling in the winter.
As a result of the increased numbers in the venues and the time restrictions the North Antrim board have had to reduce the playing time down to 7 minutes straight through with no half time break. Clubs are to note the commencing times are different at some venues.
The competition starts on Saturday 10th Jan and continues on Saturday 17th with the finals on Saturday 24th in The Seven Towers Leisure Centre Ballymena
